Why - creating for a persona
Persona: Mark, 52 y/o. Reconnecting with his past as a climber and active person after the sudden death of his brother and after his children have moved out
Introduction:
This is a collection for the ordinary man. This collection is multi-functional, practical, pioneering and the physical manifestation of a psychological transition.
This collection of versatile bags is a tool to enable rebellion and practice the laws of mark-ism. This is the creation of dad-ism.
We have created a collection of containers that adapts to the stages of his transition – and his rebellion against the mundane.
Inspiration
Climbing - a new beginning
Mark, who is reconnecting with his past as a climber and active person after the sudden death of his brother and after his children have moved out is now looking for reactivating himself. That was our starting point and inspiration for this project.
Behind the scenes
Throughout the course we had to work together as a team on a multidisciplinary scale. We had to use each of our forces effectively.
Sustainable approach:
Modularity:Combine bags and use depending on need had a major role
Multi-functionality in the wearing moment. The bag adapts to your needs.
Upcycling: Create value from waste material used in the sole production. See the images from the padding tests.
Process
Process images doing our 6 week course in collaboration with ECCO Denmark. From planning to test/prototyping and final product.
Drawings ideation
Modular in focus
Quite a lot of our drawings were based on the idea for the bags to be modular and easy to assemble and put together in a new way. We played with different ideations as a way of communicating our idea of modularity. Rebel bag 1 had to be the most extraordinary and then less and less expressive.
Physical making and final product
Stitching by ourselves - no help
Lydia and Emilie have stitched the whole rebel bag 1 and been our main advisors doing the project in terms of production.

Helping Mark, our persona

Learnings
I did most of the digital work among other things: presentation, drawing, color correction and all video and photography. I also had a major role in prototyping bag 2 and 3. In all 4 weeks we worked together to create a harmonius bag series that would help Mark on his way to become and finding himself again.
